The dinosaurs are coming to the Ruhr. From 19 November 2026, LEGO® Jurassic World: The Exhibition ("LEGO Jurassic World: Die Ausstellung") opens at the OBEX in Oberhausen. It is the touring show built by Ryan "The Brickman" McNaught and his team, and Oberhausen is its German premiere. According to the organiser, it brings more than 50 dinosaur models made from over six million LEGO bricks, more than 18 of them life-size.

Getting there
According to the official website, buses 939, 957 and SB93 stop at "Quartier 231", about five minutes' walk from the OBEX. From Oberhausen Hauptbahnhof it is a bus ride or about 20 minutes on foot. If you drive, the address for the car park is Ruhrorter Str. 9 A; the entrance is on the opposite side of the street, and the OBEX has 240 parking spaces next to the entrance. The venue is fully step-free.
What to expect
You enter through a four-metre-high Jurassic World gate, then walk through Isla Nublar and the gene lab to the baby-dinosaur enclosure, where a life-size Brachiosaurus weighing more than 1.8 tonnes waits. After that come Pteranodons, a lesson in tracking, the escaped Velociraptors Blue and Delta and, of course, a T. rex.
Oberhausen also gets one of the newest models: a Baryonyx that, according to the organiser, weighs 400 kg, uses 102,317 bricks and took 790 hours to design and build. It is almost 5 metres long, over 1.5 metres wide and 2.5 metres high.
At the end there is a building area with 2.5 million bricks. You can build your own island, try LEGO palaeontology, solve mosaic puzzles, create hybrid dinosaurs, make dino footprints, and build an escape vehicle to get away from the T. rex.
The tour
The exhibition opened in Melbourne in 2021, according to Brickman. It then travelled through Australia and New Zealand. The press release names earlier stops in Australia, Brazil, Spain, Sweden, Finland and the USA, and more than 1.2 million visitors worldwide. Brickman's own page currently lists Cincinnati Museum Center (from 22 May 2026) and Oberhausen. The German run is organised by FKP Scorpio Entertainment, which also operates the OBEX, in cooperation with Brickman®.
