A catalogue's identifier for one particular minifigure, such as fig-000144.
Every minifigure in the catalogue has a number of its own, which tells apart figures that look alike but differ in a print or a part. BrickDb uses the numbers of the catalogue it is refreshed from, in the form fig-000144. Other sites number figures differently. You enter this number when you tell BrickDb what a scanned bag code contains.
