Made from ordinary bricks and plates where a single specialised moulded piece could have been used.
Something is brick-built when it is assembled from general-purpose pieces and not supplied as one large special part. A brick-built animal is put together from slopes, plates and hinges; a moulded one is a single piece. Many builders prefer brick-built solutions because the parts can be reused.
