How AI assistants work with BrickDb

Features

Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about your collection

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to BrickDb, and ask it about the catalogue, prices and your own collection.

BrickDb has a connection for AI assistants, built on the Model Context Protocol. Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot can use it, and a guide for each shows how to set it up. You sign in with your own BrickDb account, and the assistant then works with your permissions and nothing more. It searches the catalogue, opens a set and tells you its prices with the number of sales a figure rests on, reads your collection, adds a copy, changes a condition or a note, lists your parts and works out what your collection is worth. To remove a copy it needs that copy's set number as confirmation. You can disconnect it at any time in your assistant's settings.

How do I connect my AI assistant to BrickDb?

Open the guide for your assistant under Guides in the Learn menu: there is one for Claude, one for ChatGPT and one for Microsoft Copilot. In each you add BrickDb as a connector at the address mcp.brickdb.net/mcp, and BrickDb's sign-in page opens, where you sign in with your own account. You need a free BrickDb account: nothing works without signing in, not even the catalogue search.

What can the assistant do, and what can it not do?

It searches the catalogue, opens a set and tells you its prices with the number of sales a figure rests on, reads and changes your collection and your wishlist, lists your parts, works out what your collection is worth, looks up which minifigure a bag code stands for, and reads your MOCs and the public MOC gallery. It works with your permissions and nothing more, and removing a copy needs that copy's set number as confirmation. What you ask becomes part of your chat with the assistant's provider. You can disconnect it at any time in your assistant's settings.

Who it is for

For collectors who already use an AI assistant and would rather ask in a sentence than click through pages: what is my collection worth, which parts do I have in red, add the set I bought yesterday.
