How the Rebrickable import works

Features

Bring your Rebrickable set list into BrickDb

Import the sets you keep on Rebrickable into your BrickDb collection in one go, with the condition you choose and without BrickDb keeping your password.

If you already keep your sets on Rebrickable, you do not have to add them again. Enter your Rebrickable user name and password once: BrickDb's server sends them to Rebrickable to get a temporary access token, reads your set list with it and adds the sets to your collection. Neither the password nor the token is stored, and neither is written to a log. Rebrickable records no condition, so you say once what state your sets are in and every imported copy is recorded with it. You also choose whether to add only what is missing or everything again. This is not an official Rebrickable integration.

The Rebrickable import form, with what happens to your login, the condition choice and the login fields.
What is sent and what is kept is said before you type anything.

How do I move my LEGO set list from Rebrickable to BrickDb?

Open the import from your collection and choose "Import from Rebrickable". Pick the condition your sets are in, choose whether the sets you already have are skipped, enter your Rebrickable user name or e-mail address and password, agree that they are sent to Rebrickable in Australia, and start. The result says how many copies of how many sets were added, how many were skipped and which set numbers are not in BrickDb's catalogue.

What happens to my Rebrickable password?

It travels once, encrypted, through BrickDb's server to Rebrickable to obtain a temporary token, and both are discarded when the import ends, whether it worked or not. Neither appears in a log, an error report or a database. Rebrickable is run from Australia, which has no EU adequacy decision, so the import asks for your explicit consent every time. Use a password you use nowhere else; if you would rather not type one, add sets by search or by scanning instead.

Who it is for

For collectors who keep a list on Rebrickable and want their sets in BrickDb without typing them in again.

What you can do

  • One import, and your sets are in your collection.
  • Your password and the token are never stored.
  • Add only what is missing, so nothing is added twice.

How to get started

  1. Open Import photos in the Collection menu and choose "Import from Rebrickable".
  2. Choose the condition of your sets and what happens to sets you already have.
  3. Enter your Rebrickable login, agree to the transfer and start the import.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my LEGO® collection from Rebrickable?

Yes. BrickDb imports the set list you keep on Rebrickable into your collection in one go. It is a one-time import, not a sync.

Does BrickDb store my Rebrickable password?

No. The password and the temporary token exist only for that one import and are never stored or logged.

Will importing twice add my sets twice?

Not if you choose "Only add what is missing": a set is then added only up to the number of copies Rebrickable lists, so a second import adds nothing twice.
