How valuation works

Features

What a set is worth, honestly

What a set is worth, as a median with the sales behind it.

Prices come from sales BrickDb recorded on its own schedule — never a live query handed through to somebody else's database — and each one carries the date it happened, the currency it happened in, and whether the figure includes tax. A valuation is the median of those, with the quartile band around it and the count it was computed from. Below five sales BrickDb says it does not know, rather than showing a number it cannot stand behind.

The median, the band either side of it, and how many sales that was. The struck-out bar is the bare figure this design exists to prevent.

What you can do

  • A valuation is a median with its quartile band and the number of sales it was computed from.
  • Below five sales BrickDb says it does not know.
  • Signed in, you see what your collection is worth and how that has moved over time.
